A DTF powder shaker machine is a device that evenly applies and vibrates hot-melt adhesive powder onto printed DTF film, cures the powder, and recycles excess powder for fabric transfer printing.
When choosing a suitable powder shaking machine, the key factor is the maximum printing width of the matched DTF printer. For example, if I have a powder shaking machine with a printing width of 30 cm, I should select a powder shaking machine with a width greater than or equal to 30 cm. Purchasing one with a 60 cm width allows for better future planning and improved usage efficiency.
Automatically spread hot-melt powder onto the printed PET film, shake off excess powder via a vibration device, then pass through a heating and curing channel to firmly bond the powder to the ink layer, while recycling the residual powder. High-end DTF powder shaking is equipped with front-end preheating, waste gas purification and automatic linkage as standard, all of which can be realized by Keditec.

DTF-specialized powder shaking machines can complete standard workflows efficiently and with high quality, whereas manual powder shaking by hand can result in uneven powder distribution, adhesion and scrapped products. During the heating process, large-area shaking also tends to leave creases. Therefore, for higher efficiency and standardization, we recommend purchasing such equipment for DTF printers with a width exceeding 30cm. For small A3-sized printers, separate purchase of small semi-automatic machines can be considered.

Compared with traditional manual powder spreading, the automatic DTF powder shaker integrates powder spreading, excess powder shaking, powder recycling and drying curing in one process. 1. Working Principle of DTF Powder Shaker

The DTF powder shaker works cooperatively with the DTF white ink printer. After the printer prints the pattern on the PET transfer film, the un dried white ink and color ink remain on the film surface, which then enters the powder shaker for subsequent processing:

1. Excess Powder Residue and Severe Powder Edges on Blank Areas

Main causes include excessive workshop humidity, damp and caked powder, static electricity on the PET film, and mismatched feeding speed and vibration parameters. It is recommended to control workshop humidity between 40%–60%, turn on the static elimination device, fine-tune vibration frequency and feeding speed, and keep the hot melt powder dry.

2. Uneven Powder Spreading (Partial Powder Shortage or Accumulation)

This problem is mainly caused by blocked screens, unsmooth powder output from the powder bin, or unstable suction of the mesh belt. Regularly clean the screen and powder bin to ensure flat film feeding without warping, and use dry and uniform hot melt powder.

3. Poor Transfer Adhesion and Easy Pattern Peeling

Insufficient drying temperature leads to incomplete melting of hot melt powder. The standard curing temperature for conventional TPU hot melt powder is 120–145°C. The temperature can be fine-tuned according to the feeding speed to ensure complete powder curing.

4. Film Curling and Self-adhesion Caused by Overhigh Temperature

Excessively high curing temperature or long drying time will lead to ink oil return and film deformation. Reasonable temperature control is required to avoid long-time high-temperature baking and ensure long-term storage without adhesion.

5. Can Recycled Residual Powder Be Reused?

Clean, lump-free and impurity-free residual powder can be recycled directly. Powder mixed with cured ink residue or damp agglomerated powder must be filtered before reuse. Impure powder is prohibited from being directly put back into the powder bin, as it will block the screen and affect printing quality.

For Small Stores, Personal Entrepreneurship and Sample Making: The A3 30cm compact powder shaker is recommended. It features small size, floor space saving and high cost performance, ideal for small-batch customization, cultural product printing and garment color modification.

For Factory Mass Production and Bulk Garment Orders: The 60cm wide-format automatic powder shaker is the best choice. 5. Daily Maintenance Guidelines

Standard daily maintenance can effectively extend the service life of the equipment and stabilize printing quality:

1. Clean the screen and residual powder bin daily after work to prevent powder accumulation and caking;

2. Thoroughly clean the powder bin, air duct and mesh belt every week to keep the equipment unobstructed;

3. Check the operating status of the vibration motor, negative pressure fan and heating system monthly;

4. Empty all hot melt powder if the equipment is out of service for a long time to avoid powder damp hardening and equipment damage.
